It is all about responsibility — reflecting on AI ethics, the adult industry, and what it means to be a responsible technologist.

Responsible AI Personal Opinions

I have received multiple job offers from adult industry companies interested in AI and chatbot technology. Let me clarify upfront: I respect legitimate adult work while explaining why I’m not ready to accept such positions yet.

My Pitch

  • I have no disdain for the legitimate adult industry despite my education
  • I hold no prejudice against sex work, influenced by experience in the Netherlands
  • I respect all legal, ethical professions
  • I view sex-related work as ethical within proper contexts
  • I respect sex workers who donate profits to social good
  • My Replika internship (2021) was unrelated to erotic content
  • I’m not currently interested in entering this industry

My Story with Replika

I joined Replika for two reasons:

  1. Perfect alignment with my PhD research
  2. The platform’s emotional support features

Replika separated very well the subscribe-only, erotic part from the free, normal, and emotional support part. I acknowledge potential risks to minors but credit Replika’s efforts to separate adult content as responsible action.

Why It’s Not the Right Time

I prioritize social responsibility over financial opportunity. My work at Huawei on LLMs and chatbots lacked meaningful social impact, prompting me to recalibrate toward greater ethical contribution.

What Would I Support?

I’d welcome opportunities focused on:

  • Fighting human trafficking and abuse
  • Anti-harassment initiatives
  • Privacy protection
  • Anti-addiction measures

I am passionate about educational gaming and healthcare applications of chatbots.

The Addiction Problem

Platforms like TikTok create unhealthy addictions while claiming to fight substance abuse. There’s an irony that searching for “TikTok’s effort in fighting addiction” yields results about substance abuse work, not the platform’s own addiction concerns.

I Have a Dream

I want to be remembered as someone who “cleverly died as a responsible adult” — not merely thinking responsibly, but acting responsibly.
